What Does Live Sawn Mean
“Live Sawn” refers to the way that the boards are cut off of the log. Each plank is cut straight off of the log in one direction without changing the orientation of the log. This method produces boards with a full range of angles of the log’s rings, also known as the log’s “grain”.
Craftsmanship and Production
The cutting technique renders a very textural, organic finished product that showcases the rings, knots, and color variations in a tree. White oak is a sustainable wood harvested in America. It is extremely stable, with a high rating on the industry-wide hardness scale.
These features make it an environmentally and budget-friendly option. Colors can range from beige to medium brown and the boards can be stained in a variety of colors to complement any decor.
About White Oak Grain
White oak is a closed-grain wood, which makes it slightly more water-resistant than some other wood species. While no solid wood floors are truly waterproof, white oak planks hold up well in areas where some moisture can be expected, such as kitchens and half-bathrooms.
