Reclaiming 6 Pastures Farm
When our client made the painstaking decision to remove a large barn from his Shenandoah Valley farm ‘6 Pastures’, he knew he wanted to somehow keep and reclaim a part of his farm’s treasured history, which dates back to the early 1700s and is now used as an event venue.
Our craftsmen were able to salvage most of the rugged material and turn it into beautiful reclaimed flooring and feature walls. Vintage Oak was chosen for the flooring and Whitehall for the interior feature walls.
A portion of the red barn siding was kept in its original state, lightly brushed and dry kilned in our facility, and installed in the screen porch interior walls. The result is a character-rich space that allows our client to forever treasure the precious history of his farm and share it with guests. The home was lovingly remodeled by Lodge Construction, Inc. and designed by Reader & Swartz Architects, P.C.
