Cochran’s Live Sawn White Oak was featured in a beautiful timber-frame home in Marshall, Virginia, including the use of a custom finish. Please tell us how our product complimented the overall feel of the home’s design and ambience.
“This was a unique and interesting project for us as it blends traditional and modern building details and attempts to resonate with the owners European and American Heritage. The new home occupies the site of a former barn structure that was previously renovated to become cottage and subsequently lost to fire. Surviving elements of a fireplace were retained and the simplicity and massing of the original building form were respected but not replicated. The building itself is quite simple in form with a large, timber framed center living space and loft with lesser flanking bedroom and sitting wings. Building elements, including windows, doors and stairs are cleanly and simply detailed allowing the natural beauty of the wooden timberframe and flooring to carry the day.” – Andy Lewis, AIA, Partner, Neumann Lewis Buchanan Architects.
